World-Class Wines from the Western Cape of South Africa

Perched sky-high on the Langeberg Mountains’ beautiful slopes is a lovely wine estate, Bushmanspad Winery. The winery sits in the wine region of Robertson and creates world-class red wines in the Western Cape of South Africa. Guests are always welcomed to visit the winery to enjoy premium wines and overnight stays in the estate-owned cottages.

The Winery Mixing French Grapes with South African Soil

Bushmanspad Estate underwent a complete renovation in 2000 and expanded their vineyard area to 52 hectares. Combining traditional French varieties with New World soil became their prime philosophy. Today, winemaker Aldert Nieuwoudt and proprietor Menno Schaafsma manage the estate and strive to deliver terroir-driven wines worldwide.

Bushmanspad Estate Winery produces top-level red, white, rosé wines, all with W.O. (Wine of Origin) labels.

Bringing True Features of Their Terroir to the Wines

On the mountain slopes, a vast array of vines take advantage of microclimate, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Mourvèrdre, and Malbec. The grapes in the cellar are processed with natural and conventional methods concerning old winemaking traditions. The wine formed brings out the actual characteristics of the fruit and terroir.

The estate owns five country-style cottages, overlooking the magnificent view of the surroundings. Witness the breath-taking sunsets and peaceful nights while sipping luscious wines. Inside the cottages, guests have facilities of kitchen, en-suite bathroom, Wifi, and fireplace. A garden, stoop, and outdoor seating with a BBQ facility can be explored.
