Charming Château de La Gaude

Château de La Gaude is a stunning estate that beautifully balances elegance and functionality. Its historic French garden, recognized as a monument, invites visitors to enjoy leisurely strolls. The garden's pathways are perfect for butterfly watching, adding to the estate's charm. With breathtaking views of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, a symbol of Provence, this winery is located in the picturesque Pinchinats neighborhood, just ten minutes from Aix-en-Provence's city center.

Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence PDO Vineyards

The Pinchinats area is sheltered from the mistral winds, providing a comfortable climate for grape growing. The estate features 15 hectares of "Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence" PDO-designated vineyards, situated on hilly terrain at elevations between 250 and 400 meters. The vineyards primarily cultivate Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rolle, Sémillon, Grenache blanc, and Clairette. To ensure optimal freshness, grapes are hand-harvested in small crates during the cool early morning hours.

Certified Organic Practices

For over 20 years, Château de la Gaude has been committed to organic farming, with wines certified as organic. The winemakers adhere to biodynamic principles that prioritize environmental sustainability and soil health. Every action taken on the estate is intentional, aimed at preserving the quality of the land and its heritage. Understanding the importance of terroir is central to their winemaking philosophy.

My wife and I were here for a wine tasting. Unbelievable, Elliot was incredible. Very friendly and spoke English. He was super fun and easy going, however he knows a great deal about wine. He walked us through 5 wines, all of which were great to taste. He then toured us to the wine cellar and showed us the unique 40,000 bottle collection. Very high quality wine and Elliot was the best host, we will be back for sure!

An area where calm and pleasure reign. Our stay at the castle went wonderfully, the teams are attentive and discreet. On arrival, a guided tour of the estate is offered to familiarize yourself with the place (32 hectares in total). The view from our room over the French park was a notable plus! We had lunch in each of the open restaurants (the Art closes annually), the menus offered both at Source and at K or Kaiseki were excellent. The setting of the La Source restaurant, with this natural spring and the cave effect, is very tasteful. Special mention to all the very professional and friendly catering teams. Access to the spa with the room is 30 minutes, which is a little short if you want to take advantage of the sauna and hammam. In winter there is no pool, but a spa treatment is offered. Unfortunately the treatment did not go very well but the massages were perfect so that makes up for it a little. In short, a service worthy of relays and castles. Needless to say, we recommend the castle for a romantic or family stay.

Very nice hotel just a few minutes from Aix en Provence. The setting is sublime, the gardens, the vineyards, the outdoor sculptures. Duplex room suitable for families. The brasserie is very pleasant. We loved the breakfast with pastries baked on site. Friendly welcome. In short, a place where everything is luxury, calm and pleasure. To recommend.
