The Unique Terroir of Château Saint Roux

Château Saint Roux is nestled in the picturesque village of Le Cannet-des-Maures, with a rich history dating back to the 15th century. An Italian nobleman, captivated by the region's distinctive red-tinted soil, named it “Roux.” This soil, abundant in iron and bauxite, provides essential nutrients that contribute to the growth of aromatic grapes. As a result, the vineyard produces complex and concentrated red wines that showcase exceptional flavors, making it a true gem in the heart of Provence.

Organic Winemaking Practices

At Château Saint Roux, organic farming methods are employed to naturally protect the vines from diseases. The winemaking process utilizes local and natural yeasts, enhancing the authentic character of the wines. An experimental plot is dedicated to studying various grape varieties and their responses to climate change. This area is particularly suited for grapes such as Mourvèdre (both gray and white), Touriga Nacional, Calabrese, and Mavrud. The commitment to respecting the terroir has been a cherished tradition at Château Saint Roux, passed down through generations of owners.

Beautiful place and the food was delicious! As an entrée we had a wine tasting in the boutique with goat cheese that is made on site, and we went over to the restaurant for the platter and dessert. Also very suitable for families with children.

Nestled among the vineyards, this hotel, restaurant, bakery, and boutique, featuring a variety of characterful buildings, will delight lovers of beauty and goodness. We had a €54 lunch menu and didn't regret it. The welcome was friendly, the service efficient, and the dishes were seasonal and tasty, with both quantity and quality reflected in the menu. Overall, it's a great value for money.

I booked two nights at Château Saint Roux to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday, and the experience was exceptional! As soon as we arrived, we were charmed by the beauty of the place and the warm welcome from the staff. Still on the subject of the staff: attentive! I had asked for a little decoration with balloons in the room, and my request was taken into account with care, which added a special touch to our stay. I have rarely eaten such a good breakfast! The pastries are made by the château's baker, and are cooked in a wood fire! A treat. The restaurant's cuisine is simply delicious. Special mention to the breakfast team on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, as well as to the restaurant staff in the evening, all of whom took great care to offer us a perfect experience. One thing is certain: this stay will remain etched in our memories, and particularly in that of my husband. A magical moment that we are not ready to forget!

A dinner tonight by the fireplace. A suspended moment, a succulent meal (the venison back is to die for), a team that is great. Thank you, it is always a pleasure to come and have lunch or dinner at your place ⚘️🌿🙏

My husband and I stayed one night and it was wonderful!! The room consists of two rooms, views, everything very clean and nice. Great wine and breakfast!! The most delicious bread we have ever tasted, from our own bakery. We were lucky that the restaurant was closed that day, but I think their kitchen is excellent too. All the employees we met were very friendly and attentive!!! We will definitely be back. We will recommend it to our friends!!!👍🏻👌

Beautiful place, excellent restaurant. The staff is incredibly kind. The Valentine's Day menu was divine. The sommelier and the wine tasting delighted us. The bakery on site is also a big plus, the bread and pastries are excellent. We loved our stay. Thank you all!

We had a great weekend. The room was spacious and clean. Small downside: the coffee table is not practical, impossible to put anything on it and no full-length mirror in the room. Breakfast with homemade pastries, great!
