Chateau Vignelaure, located in the heart of Provence, France, is renowned for its organic wines produced in unique underground cellars.

A Rich History of Chateau Vignelaure

With a winemaking tradition spanning over 2000 years, Chateau Vignelaure has played a significant role in the Provence region. The winery was among the first to introduce Cabernet Sauvignon to this area, achieving remarkable success with its inaugural red vintage in 1970. Following this achievement, Chateau Vignelaure expanded its offerings, producing its first rosé in 1992 and its first white wine in 2013. The winery continues to build on its historical expertise in winemaking.

Distinct Terroirs of the Winery

Spanning over 200 hectares, with 55 dedicated to vineyards, Chateau Vignelaure practices organic viticulture. The region's limestone-clay soil, enriched with stones and gravel, contributes to the unique character of the wines. Situated at an elevation of 350 to 400 meters above sea level, the vineyards benefit from a cool climate, allowing grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, and several white varietals to develop a perfect balance of freshness and richness.

Art and Wine at Chateau Vignelaure

At Chateau Vignelaure, the synergy between art and wine is celebrated. Winemaking is an art form, and the winery showcases this connection through its art gallery. Visitors can appreciate both the beauty of the wines and the artistic expressions on display, making for a culturally enriching experience.

Superb estate offering wines with varied and complementary grape varieties, both in the AOP Coteaux d'Aix and in the IGP for less common blends. The encounter between Atlantic Cabernet Sauvignon and Mediterranean Syrah, the estate's historic brand for more than 60 years, amazes the taste buds. In certain vintages, Merlot, Sauvignon and Sémillon are also present. The whole is a complete success both in terms of taste and appearance, because everything here is beautiful. Special mention goes to the young student who is very attentive and passionate about this field and whose identity she has perfectly integrated. Thanks to her, we benefited from a high-end tour of the cellar. The layout of the oak barrels and barrels in the huge ageing cellar carved into the rock is unforgettable. Not to be missed.

Such an amazing tour, incredibly welcoming with a high level of knowledge on both the business and chemistry side of winemaking. Visually amazing. Lots to see. Jane was our guide made everything accessible. Better than our other winery yesterday, and highly recommended.
