Wines Reflecting the Richness of Soil in Pavese Region
Immersed with charging countryside, the Conte Vistarino Winery is situated in the province of Rocca de’ Giorgi, in the south Oltrepo Pavese region, Lombardy. The objective of the Vistarino Family is to produce top quality wines that reflect the richness of the soil and the terroirs by using state-of-the-art technology.
At Conte Vistarino Winery Working with Dedication and Passion
In between the late 19th century and early 20th century, Carlo Giorgi di Vistarino introduced a high-quality grape variety – Pinot Noir, to the estate. He won the awards in both London and Paris for his sparkling wines, made from Pinot Noir. Today, following his ancestor’s footsteps, Ottavia Giorgi di Vitarino – the current owner, works in the winery with the same passion and commitment to produce top-class red, white, and rose wines, together with luscious dessert and sparkling wines. Remained faithful to the traditional viticulture practices, the Vistarino Family cultivates grapes on 180 hectares of land, out of which 140 is given to Pinot Noir – all under the official Albo Della DOC Oltrepò Pavese status. The owner grows a vast array of vines along with Pinot Noir, including Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sangue Di, along with fruity Giuda, Buttafuoco, and Barbera. Besides, Conte Vistarino has dedicated 200 hectares to woods and 120 hectares to arable land, where the owner produces fruits and vegetables.
Visit the Stunning Gardens of the Villa
The Conte Vistarino Winery also consists of a perfectly preserved 18th-century family residence – Villa Fornace, dotted by the mesmerizing garden. The interior of the villa boasts a rich history of the territory and the winemaking family. Inside the dwelling, the owner has established a gaming room as well as a wine tasting room for the visitors.
