The Figuière is located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif des Maures. The history of the winery traces back to 1979 and today, the Combard family runs the winemaking tradition. This is a family house that covers an area of 85 hectares, it includes 45 ha of vines and 20 ha of pine trees, cork oak and eucalyptus. The whole family aims to produce sustainable and high-quality wines by using nature’s aromatic richness and mineral power.
The Ideal Terroir of Figuière
As well as having the ideal climatic conditions, the vineyard soils consist mainly of shale formed by the recrystallization of sedimentary clay rock. Its color ranges from silver gray to golden ocher. They use biological techniques and refuse to use pesticides and chemicals in the vineyard and the winery. All the fertilizers they use are organic. The red and rosé wines are made from Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache Noir and the varieties for white wines include Vermentino, Sémillon and Ugni Blanc. The location and terroir at Figuière are perfect for ripening both red and white varieties creating a wide array of exceptional wines.
