Hiša Vina Gjerkeš winery, Quality Over Anything

Hiša Vina Gjerkeš winery is located in the northwestern part of Prekmurje, an enchanted place, rich in archaic charm just a few 100 meters from the border with Austria. Surrounded by green forests of Goričko Landscape Park, this view extends for kilometers which are indeed magical. The winery had a major renovation in 1995 with all the characteristics of a residential house from 1925. They have been growing spectacular grapes since 1992 with all the necessary care and love.

Making of the award winning Wines

The winery has been producing top wines made from Chardonnay, Sivi pinot, Renski Riesling, Laski Riesling, Rumeni Muscat. Their wines achieve excellent results in local competitions within the winegrower association of Slovenia. The winery also had better results in international competitions like Vino Slovenija Gornja Radgona, Trideželni park competition, Decanter London, AWC Vienna, Chardonnay du Monde, and GAST Split.

Change With Time

The journey to making their spectacular wines starts a long way. The winery is constantly growing and had to build a new modern cellar in 2011 to accommodate the expansion. The winery ensures only the best and unblemished grapes go into making their magnificent wines. Grapes are fermented separately according to the varietals with native yeasts before aging in oak barrels.
