The Korenika family estate & Moškon

25 hectares of vineyard and 3 hectares of extra virgin olive oil. The family company is one of the first in Slovenia to have started the production of organic wines. And now it is one of the largest organic producers in the country. The philosophy is to be natural, live a healthy life.

A few words about celestial wines

Wines of native varieties are produced. 70% of the production is Malvazija (white), Refošk (red), Rumeni muškat (sweet white). The rest are world-famous varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon. If you ask why ingenious varieties, they will respond by saying that this is why their wines are so distinct. The best way to express the terroir, since the same grapes have been planted there for decades. Some of the wines are on the market as fresh, young wines, produced to be drunk every day. These wines are produced from grapes growing in young vineyards. Most wines are the product of ancient knowledge that is handed down from generation to generation.

We arrived here shortly before closing time, but were still given excellent advice in the wine cellar for over an hour and were allowed to try some. Very good wines! The price-performance ratio here is in some cases outstanding.

At first we thought it was closed, but once you open the heavy wooden door you are already in the middle of the tasting! ☺️ Good wines, old wines, organic wines as well as balsamic vinegar and olive oil in Demeter quality. Also pleasant advice and a nice conversation. Good thing we got lost here. 👍

I had a lovely time tasting several wines. The high quality and attention to details when making the wine was described nicely.
