Knightor estate: do you want to marry on a winery?
The Knightor estate is a working winery, wedding and events venue situated near St. Austell Bay in the Cornish countryside of England. The estate is also well known for its historic granite barns and 4 acres of Cornish hedgerows, orchards and pastures. Knightor Winery and Estate produces premium high-quality English still and sparkling wines.
The winemakers on the estate can be considered craft or artisanal wine makers who pride themselves on their levels of innovation
Perfect soil and climatic contions for great wines
Each year the winery produces multiple blends and single varietal wines in short quantities, often of less than 2000 bottles. This allows the grapes to perform especially well after they are fermented and aged in oak barrels to achieve the perfect depth and balance. The Cornish countryside where Knightor is located provides a cooler climate which means that the wines are lighter, fruitier, refreshing, and with a good acidity. The most popular wines produced on the estate are the Bacchus 2018, the Carpe Diem Red, the Carpe Diem Rose, the Carpe Diem White, the Madeleine Angevine 2017/2018, the Mena Hweg 2019, the Portscatho Vineyard Pinot Noir Precoce, the Roseland Rose, the Trevannion and the 2016 Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon. The most popular sparkling wine is the Knightor Brut Classic Cuvee White and the Knightor Portscatho Vineyard Rose Vintage 2014.
Years of research for perfect Vermouth
After years of research and innovation, Knightor now also produces a range of high-quality English Vermouths that are based on the estate’s wines and local herbs. These vermouths have a rich and intense aroma and flavour that makes them perfect as an additional to cocktails or as an aperitif.
