The Story of Lajver Winery

Renowned Hungarian and foreign experts have helped us to create a winery between the hills of Szekszárd that makes full use of the possibilities offered by nature with the help of the most modern technology. The processing and cellar, sunk to a depth of thirty meters, utilizes the Earth’s gravitational energy and natural heat storage capacity, thus ensuring the most gentle processing possible.

Grapes carefully harvested from vines enter the processing in crates at the highest point of the winery. In the case of this wine, intact bunches are placed on a lattice shaking table, where the grapes are automatically cleansed of most contaminants during gentle vibration. The residue is removed by manual sorting. This is when the berries that are not sufficiently ripe or damaged are also removed. The berries are then gravity fed to the containers or pressed.

They were very friendly and very flexible. Half of the company arrived an hour early and they were very helpful and kind throughout. It was Gábor who organised the wine tasting for us, he was also very friendly and helpful. It was a very positive experience.

My partner and I came for a double wine evening (Lajvér-Pannonhalmi). The location is beautiful; the building stands out somewhat from its surroundings; it's modern and stylish. The evening ran smoothly; the service was good, although a few times it seemed there was room for improvement in the organization. Sometimes you had to wait too long between courses, the presentation of the dishes came much later, and when serving double wine you had to be careful to get both. There were also serious errors in the food area that are no longer acceptable at an event of this magnitude, such as: the spring roll was not crispy, the trout was raw! Cucumber on the plate, the roast lamb was dried out, the rib-eye was overcooked, the pulled beef brisket was dusty, and there was no dressing to lighten it. Overall, we were satisfied; we wish the winery continued success.

Everything was amazing! Room was very spatious and luxurious, food in general was very delicious, breakfast was plentiful with freshly baked pastries. Wine collection is next level and wine tasting was such a great experience. We were the only ones since it was in February, but the waiter was extra friendly and professional. On the top of all, prices were reasonable. It is a big recommendation for this winery :)

It is located in a very nice place. Good wines and good food. The room was clean and we found everything in order. The bed is very comfortable and large. During the wine tasting we were able to try excellent specialties. You can also buy your own wines on site. All in all, I recommend it, a great weekend spot for a few days.

In a wonderful setting, overlooking the surrounding vineyards, stands a modern winery designed in glass and concrete. As a master of ceremonies, of course, I recommend it primarily from a professional point of view for events and weddings, but it is clear that if you want to spend a nice weekend somewhere, you should definitely visit Lajvér as well! The wedding ceremony can be held at the end of a long walkway, in the open air, almost floating above the landscape. Delicious flavours, good wines, ultra-friendly and professional staff (a special thanks to you) raise the already high level of the place. The rooms bear the stamp of modern architecture. I highly recommend it!
