Lendwines Winery, Independent Association of Young Wine Growers
The Paller Family winemaking tradition dates back to 1891. After four generations of the family owning the winery, they decided to make some changes. The owner chose to partner with his winemaker friends, and they came up with the concept of Lendwines Winery. Lendwines is an association of three young Lendava winegrowers promoting nano-viticulture to make modern, unique, boutique wines in the Podravska region of Slovenia.
Nano-Viticulture at the Winery
They make premium wines in small batches with their own unique stories and represent the rich history and unique qualities of the region and natural environment. Lendwines Winery follows a nano-viticulture concept where they look after the quality of production and conserving the area of the vineyards to make small parcels of the best, premium wines.
Lendwines Winery uses traditional and modern methods and a 200-year-old wine press.
Winery Using Natural and Organic Techniques
Most work in the vineyards is done manually using natural and organic methods. The winemakers usually cultivate the vines during the afternoon after their regular jobs. In Lendavse Gorice, the commonly grown grape varieties include Welschriesling and Rhine Riesling, for which the wine region is famous. Apart from these, Kerne, Furmint, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay also grown. The winery’s grapes have high acidity that helps to make wines with balanced and distinct flavors. The wines are aged in old oak barrels and some in low oxygen stainless steel tanks. Annually, Lendwines Winery makes around 15000 bottles of wines for customers all over the world.
