The Lepa Vida Winery is perfectly located in the exquisite Vipava Valley in Slovenia. The family has been growing wine for three generations combining work ethic with craftsmanship and experience in the vineyard, cellar, and every bottle of wine. They enthusiastically grow exquisite 32000 vines on 8 hectares spread across 6 different locations. All the tasks in vineyards are done manually. The special combination of soil, sun, and temperature management help them produce amazing Zelen, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Malvasia Istriana, and Chardonnay. The winery currently produces 10 different wines up to 30,000 bottles a year.

Surprising Wines by Lepa Vida

The winery likes to categorize their wines into normal wines and weird wines. They believe that the normal wines are solid with few surprises and character that won’t change no matter how it is produced. The Pinela, Rebula, and other local varieties have a different story and can be experimented with to produce surprising wines. Their local Zelen gives herbal notes reminiscent of cinnamon which is their unique white. The Chardonnay VI is aged in French oak barrels with vanilla notes and is sweet and creamy.
