Peri Bigogno: A Gem Between Venice and Milan
Peri Bigogno Winery is located in the picturesque moraine hills of Castenedolo, in the Lombardy region of Italy, close to the Riviera del Garda Bresciano. The location is strategic: near Lake Garda — about a 30-minute drive — and situated between the renowned cities of Venice and Milan. The Peri family, long dedicated to viticulture, produces a selection of award-winning wines under the Montenetto di Brescia DOC designation.
A Long History of Winemaking
The story of Peri Bigogno began in 1946, when the Peri family moved from Visano to Castenedolo. They purchased a historic palace, once owned by the Togni family, and transformed it into the heart of their winery. The ancient cellar, featuring an impressive entrance with a grand marble staircase, reflects a winemaking tradition deeply rooted in the past.
The winery ages its wines in large oak barrels and barriques and cultivates high-quality grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Marzemino, producing both red and white wines. They also craft elegant traditional-method sparkling wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, all in compliance with the Talento regulations.
Wines from the Heart of Lombardy
The vineyards are located in the hilly Montenetto area, characterized by ideal soils and a favorable microclimate that allows the winery to create wines with personality, structure, and depth.
