Špela Štokelj, the Eighteenth Wine Queen of Slovenia
Blessed by the burst of the sun, mountains, and mineral marl, the Štokelj Winery resides among the best wine-growing locations of the Vipava Valley, Slovenia. With vineyards terraced on the southern Vipava slopes, the estate focuses on cultivating local grape varieties. Today, the fourth generation of the Štokelj family carries out all the wine production phases at Posestvo Štokelj.
Knowledge, Tradition, and Stunning Homeland
Posestvo Štokelj was a boutique Vipava farm started by great-grandparents of Špela Štokelj. Over the years, the four generations have contributed rare advancements to the winery. Špela, along with the two latest members, Nejc and Leja, uses modern methods, blended with ancient traditions. Under the supervision of Marta, Damjan, and Majda, the second and third generation winemakers of the Štokelj family, the estate has won numerous national and international awards worldwide.
Posestvo Štokelj Winery – Balance Between Nature and Human Beings
Identified as a typical Primorska peasant family, the Štokelj family focuses more on indigenous grape varieties, along with a little dedication towards international ones. Building heritage for future generations, the estate grows top-class Pinela, Rebula, Merlot, Barbera, and Chardonnay. The vines are handpicked during the harvest, giving birth to excellent ZGP Vipava Valley wines, namely red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. For effective aging and refining, the winemakers use oak barrels and large vats. Visiting Posestvo Štokelj will 100% enhance your winemaking know-how.
