The Qinta do Portal winery and estate is situated in the Douro Valley Demarcated Region in Portugal. This region covers 250 000 hectares of land along the Douro River basin which runs for over 927 kms until is meets the Atlantic Ocean in the city of Porto. The region is characterised by very cold Winters and very hot and dry Summers. Qinta do Portal is a family run winery and estate that is typical of a local Portuguese boutique winery.
Different Types of Wines
The wine makers mainly produce DOC Dour Wines, premium Port wines and incredible Moscatel. The wine growing activities at Qinta do Portal began in the early 90s and the estate is committed to producing high quality wines that express the heart of the soul of the Douro Valley.

Integrated Farm Management Techniques
The vineyards of Qinta do Portal are all managed using only integrated farm management techniques which produces high quality grapes by using only natural resources. The winery grows a wide range of different grape varietals at different altitudes with different sun exposure and soil compositions. In the winery, the wine makers work with the highest respect for the grapes allowing them to achieve the highest quality while reducing energy consumption. The distinguishing characteristic of the wines are their elegance and their freshness. The wine ranges produced at the Qinta do Portal are the Colheita, Reserva, Grande Reserva, Auru, Mural, Muros de Vinha, Late Harvest and Femina.
