The Four Generations of Winemakers The Koglot family has been diligently conserving their centuries-old homestead and wine-growing lands near Vrtojba and throughout the Vipava Valley with respect and appreciation for its time-honored tradition for the last four generations. Wine has long been a part of their culture, and viticulture became their primary activity in the second half of the twentieth century. The Koglot wine cellar is the Vipava Valley's westernmost wine cellar, also producing spirits like brandy, gin, barrique grape brandy, and more, all made using ancient methods and recipes. A Blend of Tradition and Modernity Vina Koglot has one of Slovenia's oldest brick distillery boilers that constantly works to combine contemporary knowledge and technology with traditional methods of production and wisdom passed down through the years, considering that it is the best approach to produce exceptional varietal wines. Along with Malvasia, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are also grown on their land. Their vineyards have been continually regenerated and expanded throughout time, such that practically every generation has cared for new varieties of their extensive variety.
