Gorges-müller, a Merger of Two Best Wineries in Moselle Valley
The Gorges-Müller is a family-winery present in the heart of the Moselle Valley. In the 1990s, two winegrowing companies, the Müller-Polf winery in Burgen and the Gorges-Reef in Wintrich, came together to form the Gorges- Müller. The estate totally relocated to the castles, where a lot of investment has been made to enhance their buildings and other associated technology. Traditional methods are combined with modern machinery and innovative technique to produce distinct wines. The owner’s son Martin completed his viticulture course in 2018 and will ably handle the winery in the future. They even restored an early 19th century house with all the modern facilities and comfortable rooms for their guests and wine lovers. Their wines are appreciated in Germany and also in many countries worldwide.
Most Environment-friendly and Compatible Methods
Their vineyards are present in Burgen, Wintrich, and Veldenz. They are on Moselle’s hot and steep sloped vineyards and also on the cool slopes near the river watercourse. All the work in their estate is done through ecological and organic viticulture that preserves the natural surroundings and also the health of their vines. Only the most environment-friendly and compatible methods are used. The main grape varieties that grow in their vineyards include Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Müller-Thurgau. The best grapes are handpicked and further processed at the winery to make their high-quality red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines. Their wines have a natural fruity taste and intense aroma that reflects the real qualities of the terroir and climate of Moselle.
