Experience the king among white German varieties: Riesling
Weingut Peter Lauer Winery with its steep mountain viticulture is located in the Saar region of Germany. It boasts of having the best off-dry Riesling of Germany and is something of a Riesling specialist using 100% Riesling grapes.
Peter Lauer winery: in the heart of Moselle region
Viticulture has been practiced in the family estate since 1830. In 1973, Peter Lauer (II) took over the winery with vineyards in the best locations on the Saar, in the middle of the Moselle wine-growing region. Since 2006, Peter has been working together with his son Florian in the vineyard and cellar. They rely on 100% traditionally hand-picked, vegan and sustainable Riesling grapes. The Saar wine-growing region is home to one of the most exclusive white wine regions in the world. In the Saar valley around Ayl, the Riesling grape finds unique growing conditions in the tension between cool winds and hot slate mountains. The 5th generation today produces wine keeping the style of almost 180 years of tradition.
There is accommodation of hotel and fine-dining-restaurant on the estate with a beautiful garden
Member of VDP
The winery has a natural and holistic economy of the vineyards. The best white, sparkling and dessert wines are produced with the natural and spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts in old wooden barrels. The sparkling wines are 20-30 years old in the winery. The entire process is vegan. Weingut Peter Lauer Winery has been a member of the VDP – the association of German quality wine estates since 2013. The wines from the VDP are definitely special in the dry and fine-bitter taste range.
