The Story of Zaloščan Vina De Adami Winery

The wine-growing tradition of Slejko family reaches almost 100 years back to the year 1926. Nowadays, the tradition continues with Borut Slejko. He is the fourth generation of the Slejko family. He will continue this tradition with his son who will be the 5th generation. Borut Slejko was able to enlarge the property to 8 hectares (19.8 acres) and he is proud that he was able to step on his forefathers path with a well thought plan and vision.

Winery Zaloščan Vina De Adami: in the heart of Viappa valley

The winery Zaloščan vina De Adami is located at Zalošče, Dornberk in the Vipava Valley the region of Primorska in Slovenia. The records show that Adami family brought the grapes to this region. The vine growing spread later to other parts of Vipava Valley and into the Goriska area.

Following a natural philosophy in the vineyards

At Zaloščan vina De Adami, the bottling and selling of wines under the “de Adamis” label began in 1990. And then in 1995, the new, bigger cellar was built with more space for bottling, storing, and wine tasting. The philosophy of grape production at Zaloščan vina De Adami winery is that they do not use herbicides in vineyards, in order to offer people wines that do not contain harmful substances. This with respect to people, nature, and the environment, De Adami strives to
produce grapes in the most nature-friendly way. The philosophy of vine cultivation and wine-making process is to follow our ancestors’ traditions and to do things the traditional way.

Out of respect for Mother Nature and with the intention of offering wines of exceptional quality, they don’t use herbicides and other harmful chemicals.

In addition, we create Musketir as a sweet boutique wine. We also can offer you old vintage wines under De Adami label like Chardonnay Arhiva, Merlot Arhiva and Merlot VrhunskiThe white wines that are produced under De Adami label are, Regina, Chardonnay, Zelen, Pinela, Rebula, Chardonnay, Pinot Grey, Sauvignon, Yellow Muscat. The grape varieties that produce such excellent wines are Zelen, Pinela, Chardonnay, Rebula, Sauvignon, Pinot Grey, Yellow Muscat, Barbera, Merlot,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir. The prime categories are red and white wine.
