Nestled in the picturesque Buzau wine region of Romania, Lacerta Winery stands out with its state-of-the-art facilities and the largest barrique cellar in the country. Located on the same 45th parallel as renowned wine regions like Bordeaux and Piedmont, the winery benefits from long, sunny autumns and wet springs, creating perfect conditions for grape cultivation. The presence of small lizards in the area is a testament to the pristine quality of the fertile soils. Established in 2011, Lacerta Winery takes its name from the Latin word for lizard, reflecting its commitment to quality and nature.

At the heart of the estate lies the Dorobantu Manor House, a stunning architectural piece designed by Ion Mincu in 1901 and beautifully renovated in 2005.

Covering 82 hectares, the vineyards at Lacerta Winery thrive under optimal sunlight and rainfall. The winery has garnered numerous gold medals at prestigious competitions, showcasing its dedication to quality. The diverse grape varietals cultivated here include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Feteasca Neagra, Feteasca Alba, Shiraz, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and Blaufränkisch. Handpicked grapes are carefully processed to create a range of high-quality red, white, rosé, and dessert wines. The unique oak barrels sourced from France, Russia, Hungary, the USA, and Romania contribute to the rich flavors and aromas of the wines. By blending traditional methods with innovative techniques, Lacerta Winery consistently produces exceptional wines that reflect the essence of the region.
