A FAMILY STORY

My passion for wine has deep roots. They were passed down to me from my grandfather.
Giuseppe, whose name I bear, and above all from my father Francesco, who has
He always believed in my potential. I worked alongside him for 20 years,
in the family business, forming me as a man and as an entrepreneur.
I treasured his teachings which gave me the strength to create,
in 2012, the Tenuta Fontenuova company, with the desire to pass on to my children
and to future generations the same passion.

Tenuta Fontenuova, with its 8 hectares, was initially dedicated to cultivating vineyards and producing grapes. In recent years, it has grown to its current 20 hectares, a growth focused on high-quality, modern viticulture, fully respecting the environment and tradition. All this has been possible thanks to the invaluable support of my sisters, Maria Pia and Elisa, who serve as key advisors in addressing current and future challenges.

the VINEYARDS

Our vineyards extend across the municipality of Montepulciano, within the DOCG zone. The soils are medium-textured, layered: clayey, sandy, and tuffaceous.
They enjoy excellent exposure, which favors optimal grape ripening. The quintessential local variety, Sangiovese, known in the Montepulciano area as Prugnolo Gentile, makes up almost all of our vineyards. International varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, have also been planted.

We are proud to continue a centuries-old tradition of producing Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a wine of prestige and refinement.

THE CELLAR

Our recently renovated cellar represents the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation. Here, the carefully selected grapes embark on their journey towards excellence. We have modern steel and concrete fermentation tanks, allowing for precise temperature control and impeccable cleanliness. At the same time, we maintain Tuscan winemaking traditions with the use of wooden vats, which give our wines their distinctive character.

TASTING

Come and discover our winery with an authentic wine tasting , guided directly by the producing family.

The experience includes a tasting of select wines , accompanied by a platter of typical local cured meats and cheeses . The experience takes place in a friendly, informal atmosphere , during which the producer will share the history of the winery, its winemaking methods, and valuable pairing suggestions.

The visit lasts about an hour and is the perfect opportunity to learn about our traditions and local flavors: an ideal experience for both enthusiasts and the curious who want a genuine, personalized experience. Upon request, we can organize tours and tastings for small groups , always in the spirit of authenticity and conviviality.
