Salta has captivating stories waiting for you. Are you ready to listen?
Bodega El Cese shares the rich history of Salta, nestled among its vineyards in a remote landscape. The land, the vines, and the wines all tell a tale.

The History of Salta

Bodega El Cese is located in the picturesque region of Salta, Argentina. In the Calchaquí Valley, the original landowners were working the fields when they heard an unusual noise. Curiosity piqued, they paused their work, only to discover the next day that they had unearthed several sacks of gold. This remarkable find led to the area being known as "the parcel." Today, the vines that flourish here strive to express the unique character of this treasured land, contributing to the exceptional taste and quality of the wines produced.

A Unique Organic Winemaking Environment

Situated at an altitude of 1920 meters above sea level, Bodega El Cese benefits from a unique organic zone. The region receives an average of 30 to 50 millimeters of rainfall annually, providing just the right amount of moisture for the vines to thrive. The winery spans 11 hectares, cultivating varieties such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Aspirant Bouchet, Torrontés, and Tannat.

Noteworthy Wines from Bodega El Cese

Bodega El Cese produces a selection of intriguing wines, including limited-edition Rosé and an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon that wine enthusiasts should not miss.

We saw the light and went inside, they showed us the winery in 5 minutes (there is not much to see) and offered us a generous tasting for the modest sum of $500 per person. The wines are good, very interesting. I leave photos so you can see what is there. There are no food options. The view is very nice and we really enjoyed the short visit.

Very nice place. It's a small family business and it's way better than other touristic bodegas. The visit is short because it's small but free. Then we tried 5 wines for 2000 pesos per person. We bought a nice bottle that we liked for 10k pesos. We also liked the story about the name of the place and the wine. Come and visit to get to know it ;)

Beautiful boutique winery and Jorge treated us very kindly. You can't miss it if you follow Route 40 from Cachi to Cafayate. It is located in Angastaco, a very beautiful town. The views from the winery are impressive. They produce excellent wine, a very rich Torrontes and a Malbec with lots of fruit.
