Following Family Traditions at Vasija Secreta

The origin of Vasija Secreta date back to the mid 19th century. The previous owners of the winery were famous for producing traditional wines of Salta – a legacy that the present owners have continued to follow. Over the years, a lot of change in technology has taken place in the winery, the cellar, and in the viticulture practices. Old family traditions are still respectfully followed, peppered with innovative ideas. Initially, mud jars were used for fermentation, today, these haev been replaced by stainless steel tanks.

Vasija Secreta Winery stores their top-notch wines in both French and American oak barrels adding to a complexity of flavors in their wines.

The vineyards are spread throughout the fertile valley where Vasija Secreta grows a broad variety of grapes, comprising Torrontes, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. In some areas near Esteco, the winemaker grows Bonarda and Tannat as well. Through hard work and passion, these grapes are converted into luscious red and whites wines, along with unique rosé and dessert wines.

In addition to their wines, another true gem of Vasija Secreta Winery is a visit to the petit museum – La Banda 1857. Learn the history and culture of the winery and its people when you visit as the Wine Museum consists of 300 pieces of oak and carob barrels, along with historic belongings of the former owners.
