A unique terroir in Navarra

The Bodega Pago de Cirsus winery is situated on the Bolandin Estate in the Ablitas Municipality in the southernmost part of Navarra in Spain. The winery sits at an altitude of 395 meters above sea level making the terroir unique to the area.

A continental climatic influence

In total, the farm spans over 220 hectares of land, of which 136.7 hectares are vineyard, which were planted in 2000. The surface of the vineyard is divided between the Chardonnay, Muscat small grain, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo and Grenache grape varietals. Due to the location of the farm in the far south of Navarra, the climatic conditions are also unique. The climate can be considered continental with very cold winters and very long and dry summers. These conditions are a direct influence on the grapes and the wine producing techniques of the farm.

At Bodega Pago de Cirsus the wines are crafted using the highest quality level of production so that the wine has a distinct character that sets it apart from that of other wineries. The estate also relies on state-of-the-art facilities for the on-site production and bottling of wines in a seamless process. The harvesting of the grapes takes place between late August and early September when white grapes are the first to be harvested. This is done at night when the temperatures are cooler.
