Living Out The Passion For Wine

La Casa De Lúculo was started in 2004 by Juan Glaria in Mendiforria, Navara with the aim to create a wine that reflects the originality of vines grown in peculiar conditions of the low mountains, with the climatic influence of the Pyrenees. The wine gives out new nuances in the elaborations and aging processes to enhance the strong personality of the Garnache grapes. The name of the winery is dedicated to Lucio Licino Luculo, the great gourmet of Classical Rome of 1st century BC, lover of the arts and hedonism.

The elaboration is done in a natural way from the harvest to the bottling.

Biodynamic Cultivation At La Casa De Lúculo

At La Casa de Lúculo, most of the vineyards have been traditionally cultivated as organic, avoiding the use of synthetic pesticides and herbicides. The climate condition with Pyrenean influence in the north and Mediterranean in the south, the cold at night, and the sunny days make the ripening of the grapes slow and fine. The soils of the old plots are mostly on the mountain slopes comprised of stony soil with fine loamy or silty textures and calcareous marls.

Producing High Quality Wines

In 2006, the winery collaborated with Bodega de Mendigorria, an old cooperative winery from the 50s with modern facilities and traditional aesthetics, where barrel aging and bottling are carried out. The same year, La Casa De Lúculo released its first vintage of red wine, Jardin de Lúculo, made from Grenacha grapes from the old vineyard of the Baja Montaña area.
