Thirty Hectares of Vineyards forTempranillo, Garnacha, Viura, and Malvasia
The vineyards at Bodegas Alvia Winery cover around thirty hectares of land, in which Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Viura, Mazuelo, and Malvasia are cultivated. All of Bodegas Alvia’s high-quality grapes go into the production of their famous red, white and rosé wines. The area has an Atlantic climate with a low amount of cold winds through the vineyards with soils suitable for vine cultivation. Plot orientation, low productivity, and vineyard age are all also in great balance for the growth of excellent grapes.
Handpicking and Careful Selection to Ensure High-Quality Wines at Bodegas Alvia Winery
The harvest workers manually select the best grapes on a sorting table and discard any grape, not in good condition. The fermentation process takes place in small tanks with a capacity of 8000 to 15000 liters. This helps to control fermentation and keep different varieties of grapes seperate before optimal blending. The aging of wine takes place in new Hungarian, American, and French barrels that provide the perfect level of complexity and taste to the wines. Traditional knowledge and modern techniques allow the production of the best quality Rioja wines at Bodegas Alvia.
