Visit Broccardo’s Historic Wine Cellar

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Langhe region, Broccardo Winery is nestled in Monforte d’Alba, surrounded by rolling hills and vibrant vineyards. The estate's ancient cellar is a testament to its rich history, where visitors can appreciate the artistry behind Broccardo's renowned DOC and DOCG wines. The breathtaking scenery and the charm of the winery create an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

A Legacy of Winemaking Since 1900

Broccardo Winery has been a family-run establishment since 1900, with Filippo, Laura, and Federica continuing the legacy of their ancestors. Each sibling plays a vital role in the winemaking process, from pruning and harvesting to fermentation and bottling. Filippo serves as the winemaker, Federica tends to the vineyards, and Laura manages sales, all while honoring the family’s commitment to sustainable practices and high-quality wine production.

Award-Winning Barolo from 13 Hectares of Vineyards

Broccardo's vineyards span three picturesque townships: Monforte d’Alba, Barolo, and Novello. Here, four distinct grape varieties thrive, including Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Arneis. The San Pietro vineyard is particularly known for its exceptional Nebbiolo, while the Paiagallo, Ravera, and San Giovanni vineyards focus solely on this noble grape. The unique terroir, shaped by the ancient Sea Padano, contributes to the wines' finesse, structure, and elegance, making them a true reflection of the region.

Although we didn't make a reservation for a wine tasting, we were warmly welcomed and were allowed to try some of the wines. Our hostess has excellent English skills, so we were able to learn a lot about regional wine growing and the family history. Regarding the pricing: You have to expect around 12€ for the Nebbiolo, the Barolo is available from 28€ - very fair prices for the quality offered. The winery is definitely worth a visit, the view from the small sales room in the middle of Monforte is of course beautiful. The warmth of the hosts as well as the excellent wines make us feel like 'a prossima', because it is the personal connection to the product that makes it an individual experience. Thanks!
