Fortemasso winery is located in Monforte d’Alba, one of the 11 municipalities where Barolo DOCG is produced. Our vineyards are located in Castelletto, on the slopes of a very steep hillside, with an elevation between 360 and 450 meters above sea level, and the soil found here has a very sandy composition. A location of rare beauty, dominating the Langa and overlooking the vineyards of Serralunga and Monforte; an extremely competent staff, driven by a very clear production philosophy, which gives extreme importance to the vineyard and uses a light hand in the cellar, in order to keep the features of the Nebbiolo grape growing in the MGA Castelletto recognizable; a sustainable underground cellar, designed to preserve the external rural landscape but modernly designed for the production process: all this is Fortemasso.

On arrival, we were very warmly welcomed by Francesca, and then walked with her through the wine estate and the winemaking process. The wines are, as far as we are concerned, among the better wines in the Piedmont. How much we enjoyed this personalised approach and their fantastic wines.

Excellent experience at this young, premium estate. The wine is exceptional. Its sandy soil makes all the difference. Thank you to Alberto for his explanations and his kindness. Remember to book in advance.

Fortemosso is a relatively young winemaker in the region. But don't be fooled! The tour and tasting were impressive; every wine was so elegant and a true explosion of flavor. If you're in the Barolo region and fancy an informative and delicious tour/tasting, be sure to stop by! Oh, and don't forget to take some delicious home with you! ;) (PS: Say hi to Francesca when you're there; she's a wonderful woman who can explain and describe everything in detail.)
