Cantina Girlan: A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

Cantina Girlan, established in 1923, is located in a historic 16th-century farm. It began with 23 passionate winegrowers who laid the foundation for what has become a renowned winery. The ancient walls and winding cellar corridors not only reflect a rich history but also house cutting-edge winemaking technology, creating the perfect environment for aging exceptional wines.

Commitment to Quality and Passion

Today, around 200 dedicated vine growers and their families cultivate approximately 215 hectares of vineyards in the prime regions of Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. The winery maintains close relationships with these growers, providing guidance to ensure the highest quality grapes. Hand-harvested according to a meticulous schedule, the grapes include varieties such as Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Lagrein. Cantina Girlan produces three distinct wine lines: Selezioni, Vigneti, and Classici, all classified as DOC Alto Adige.

A Rich Winemaking Heritage

The region has a winemaking history dating back to 1085, and Cantina Girlan is committed to preserving this legacy. A visit to the winery offers a glimpse into the harmonious collaboration between the growers and the winery, showcasing a dedication to quality and tradition that has stood the test of time.

Great wine. Red fruits and a delicious spiciness make this Pinot Noir a champion of flavor and versatility; the persuasive tannins and fruity aftertaste create an appealing, delicious, and classy drink!

Wonderful tasting. The boy was very kind and helpful, he explained everything to us in a prepared manner (in English, Italian and German) and was able to answer every question. They even gave us a tour of the cellar, even though we hadn't booked. Beautiful experience!

We came to Cornaiano specifically to visit this winery because we were pleasantly surprised by a wine made by them (the "Doss") and we were not disappointed at all. It was truly a wonderful experience! Our guide, Valentina, was very good and super friendly! Even the guy at the wine shop (whose name I can't remember, maybe David?) was very kind and explained a lot of things to us. Thumbs up with full marks! 😊

After the wonderful experience in September, I was in the area yesterday and decided to buy some wine again, this time they outdid themselves as well, I found Nadia who let us try all the wines we asked for with an exceptional explanation, always kind and friendly. I must say that in terms of wine quality and hospitality no one beats them, many compliments. I can't wait to go back for the guided tour with the final tasting of their 5 lines of pinot noir, despite the almost 3 hour trip.
