Interesting Winemaking from Umbria
Making Wines for a Long Time
Lapone is a small winery located in the middle of one of the richest and old wine areas of Italy: Orvieto, halfway between Florence and Rome. Orvieto has produced wine in its hilly countryside of volcanic origin since Etruscan time.
In this “terroir” Cantarelli family, owner of Lapone Winery, in 2002 decided to plant and experiment with international grape varieties. We are a certified environmental protection farm and we follow Integrated Agricultural protocol (SQNPI certified).
Grape Varieties at the Winery
Among the 11 grapes varieties cultivated, Lapone Winery is currently producing 4 different withe wines with Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Verdicchio (the oldest Italian variety), Grechetto, Malvasia Procanico grapes, and 2 red wines with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
