Wine Making at Chateau Camponac

Located about 30km from Bordeaux and 1.5km from the village of Bourg the wineyards are composed of three different sub-soils made of colluvium originating in erosion glacis.

We believe in and promote all living things, a large number of plants have been introduced to encourage biodiversity. The entire estate is in organic conversion and managed in agroforestry.

Depending on the needs, the vines are treated with fermented extracts such as garlic, comfrey. Our wine plots are currently home to ten or so eco-pasturage way.

Innovation, diversification, and genuineness are the keywords for our wines without added sulfites or SO2. Most of our harvest is vinified in concrete tanks with are then split into 225-liter oak barrels and 500-liter clay jars.

Splendid library, unfortunately built to include the Napoleon 3 stables, and therefore loss of these magnificent stables, which included splendid wooden stalls. Only one remains, in the old vat room, where the Raphaël St Orens historical museum was transferred. Nice comprehensive tour of the museum.
