Beauty in the Hills of the Bordeaux Region
The history of Grangey Winery traces back to 1756. The parent and grandparents of current owner, Claudine Mio and his son, Franck, bought the estate in 1954. Château Grangey is located in Bordeaux on a hillside land. In October 2013, they made the first wine on-site. Frank’s grandfather replanted the vines almost 60 years ago. He maintained and pampered the vines to produce exceptional quality wine. Château Grangey stands out for its size and not to forget about heterogeneous soil. However, the clay and the slits still dominate. The different sediments left strings on brown clay what gives the grapes a good aging potential. The small rows of vines characterize the typicity of this vineyard. Predominately Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec are planted.
