Sustainable Wines from Château La Clyde

Château La Clyde is nestled in the picturesque Côtes de Bordeaux region, close to the Garonne River. The winery's sloping, stony terroir boasts a rich biodiversity with clayey, chalky, and pebbled soils. Here, both red and white wines are crafted from grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. The red wines are aged for an average of 28 months in oak barrels, while the white wines incorporate Muscadelle, which is aged for 5 months in oak barrels and comes from vines that are 15 years old.

Distinctive Characteristics of Local Wines

The wines from Côtes de Bordeaux are known for their intense aromas of blackberry and Morello cherry. On the palate, they offer a fruity experience that lingers delightfully. These wines pair exceptionally well with traditional regional dishes, including oysters and goat cheese, enhancing the overall tasting experience.

During a stay in Entre-Deux-Mers, we had the opportunity to discover Château La Clyde. The owners shared with us their passion for organic wine and biodynamically cultivated vines during a visit to the cellar. A generous gourmet tasting allowed us to discover the quality of their wines and to spend a warm moment of conviviality with the owners. We were able to complete our wine cellar with a selection of bottles, in particular the Hédoné 2019, which we recommend. Great discovery.

A big thank you to you Florence and Jacques for sharing with us your love of wine and vines. Beyond the discovery of your excellent wines and the ways of doing things in organic and biodynamic ways, we sincerely appreciated your welcome and exchange with you. I highly recommend the wines produced at Château La Clyde by Florence and Jacques, vines cared for with respect and wines raised with passion in a human-sized farm. An excellent memory. Looking forward to seeing you again.
