Experience Authentic Burgundy Winemaking in Côte de Nuits
Diverse Vineyard Plots at Domaine Cluny
Domaine Cluny is a charming winery nestled in the heart of Burgundy, renowned for its exceptional wines crafted from two iconic grape varietals: the ancient Pinot Noir and the beloved Chardonnay. Unlike many wineries, Domaine Cluny's wines are not simply labeled as Burgundy; they reflect the unique characteristics of eight distinct appellations where the vineyards are located. Each vineyard boasts its own microclimate and soil composition, resulting in wines that, while made from the same grape varietals, offer a delightful variety of flavors and aromas.
Traditional Burgundy Architecture
For six generations, the Cluny family has cultivated vineyards in Burgundy. Today, sisters Lea and Camille manage the winery, welcoming visitors to experience the charm of their traditional Burgundy home. Located in the historic center of Brochon, the winery features a boutique hotel where guests can enjoy a peaceful stay. Relax in the serene inner garden or on the outdoor terrace with a glass of rich Chardonnay, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of this beautiful region.
Winemaking at Domaine Cluny
Domaine Cluny is committed to preserving the traditional methods of Burgundy winemaking. Grapes are hand-harvested and transported in small crates to maintain their quality. Once at the estate, the grapes are carefully sorted, destemmed, and placed into tanks for fermentation without the addition of yeasts. The wines typically age in French oak casks for 12 to 18 months, allowing them to develop their unique character. Additionally, Domaine Cluny produces sparkling wines using Chardonnay grapes, crafted in the Traditional method and labeled as Crémant de Bourgogne AOC, reminiscent of the renowned Champagne process.
