Domaine du Cayron, a Family Winery in Rhone

Domaine du Cayron was found in 1840 just at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. It is hard to believe but since that time for more than 180 years it is run by the same family – the Faraud family. Now it is turn of the fifth generation. Three sisters – Delphine, Cendrin, and Roseline – are fully in charge for the winery: from the vinegrowing in the vineyard to the sales distribution all around the world.

A Winery of Traditional Red Winemaking

The Faraud sisters host 17 hectares of vineyards located throughout the Gigondas appellation, along the Dentelles de Montmirail and across garrigue, including 2ha of vineyard in the Bois de Menge. Manual harvest, intensive sorting process, indigenous yeast fermentation, typical Rhone grape varietal, aging in old oak foudres for 12 months – here wines are produced preserving regional traditional techniques of red winemaking.

World Recognition of Domaine du Cayron

No surprise, the red wine of the Faraud family are well known all around the world. They export their wines to different European Union countries, the UK, the USA, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan and many more. Actually, 70% of production is exported! These wines are modern day ambassadors of the Rhone Valley. After tasting these wines, people are getting curios about the region and definitely pay a visit to the winery. And of course, the sister are always glad to host visitors in their home.
