Montepulciano: Learn How to Taste Wine at Fattoria Svetoni
Explore the essence of wine: a guided tasting journey featuring 3 wines, offering insight and enjoyment in a delightful manner in the Tuscany wine region
Flanked by rolling hills, Fattoria Svetoni, once a farmhouse, now is a Wine Resort and is located in the territory of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, supersizing the views of the Tuscan countryside. The total area covered by the estate is 36 hectares, where vineyards hold 26 hectares. Sangiovese is the flagship vine of the Svetoni farm that grows in the fertile terroirs, enjoying microclimate throughout the year.
Established in the early 19th century, Fattoria Svetoni boasts extensive winemaking. The classic "leopoldina" farmhouse, was commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Pietro Leopoldo, and managed by the Svetoni family. They started their winemaking journey in 1865. Today, Podere Rubino owns the Svetoni farm, producing Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG together with Toscana IGTs, DOCs and DOCGs wines. Old and new oak barrels of different sizes are used for aging the wines, beautifully lined up in the historical cellar.
Podere Rubino has upgraded the winery experience by converting four historic structures into a relaxing accommodation. Guests can choose to stay in Charme, Romance, Privilege, or Exclusive. All rooms are equipped with exquisite bedding, LCD TVs, WiFi, Air Conditioning, rich courtesy set, and many more state-of-the-art amenities. Tourists can enjoy wine tasting in our terrace (where they can admire the landscapes) or in our historical cellar.
A vast array of grape varieties are grown on the historic land of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Some of the important ones include excellent Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Vermentino. Along with vines, Podere Rubino takes care of his olive groves, flower meadows, and vegetables: it is truly a magnificent spot to spend vacations for loving couples, families, friends and, of course, wine lovers.
