Winemaking, Beekeeping, and Olive Plantation
Nestled among the vineyards, olive groves, and forests, the La Maliosa Winery is a hundred and sixty hectares of farmland located in the rolling hills of Maremma, Tuscany. The estate is a well-known producer of organic wines, extra virgin olive oil, and natural honey. Getting a biodynamic certification in 2010, the farm reflects the continuous commitment and passion of the owner, Antonella Manuli, for grapes.
Promoting Organic Grape Farming Through Innovative Projects
After graduating in Business Administration from the United States, Antonella Manuli returned to Italy and worked as an accountant for ten years at Terme di Saturnia Spa Resort. She has always appreciated organic farming, which results in the inauguration of La Maliosa in 2009. Later in 2013, a well-known agronomist and researcher, Lorenzo Corino, joined Antonella. The duo started various agronomic projects to promote sustainable viticulture methods; one of them is Metodo Corino.
Small Vineyard Plots Produces Quality Wines
Three and a half hectares of agricultural land is dedicated to grape farming, from which the estate delivers around 8,000 bottles of red and white wines. La Maliosa produces three Toscana IGT wines, namely La Maliosa Rosso, La Maliosa Bianco, and La Maliosa Tarconte. Cared by Lorenzo, the vineyards are planted with a wide range of vines, such as Procanico, Ansonica, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Cannonanu Grigio.
