Frešer Winery has a rich history that dates back to 1832, with the family’s winemaking tradition spanning seven generations. The great-grandfather of the current owners was the first to cultivate the land, laying the foundation for sustainable and organic viticulture. The winery embraces natural methods of vine growing, resulting in wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. The warm days and cool nights from the nearby Pohorje mountains contribute to the wines' rich aromas and refreshing fruitiness.
The sloping terrain of Ritozno and the diverse soil composition impart a distinct mineral character to their wines, creating a full and complex flavor profile.
Frešer Winery cultivates a variety of grapes, including Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Italian Riesling. The winery’s philosophy emphasizes the importance of soil composition in shaping the wine's taste. The clay and sandy lowlands, situated between 330 to 370 meters above sea level, enhance the fruitiness and freshness of Sauvignon and Laško Riesling. In contrast, the stone marl found at higher altitudes (370 to 480 meters) enriches Rhine Riesling, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon, and Laško with mineral notes. Frešer Winery produces a range of top-quality red, white, and dessert wines, each reflecting the unique characteristics of their environment.

We had such an amazing time at Freser winery! The hosts were so kind, they answered all our questions and gave the needed information about what we tasted. The setting is absolutely stunning. While you are sipping all the wines, you have a beautiful view over the Slovenian valley of Slovenska Bistrica. Our hosts provided a delicious snack with homemade meat, cheese and bread. Food and wine for the soul! We would definitely recommend coming here for a wine tasting, because we felt very welcome. Greetings from Belgium! 🇧🇪 🇸🇮

Kind and enthousiast host, we tried about 6 of his wines, four whites and two reds which were all amazing. On top of that, we also got a little plate with some local charcuterie and cheese which we really enjoyed as well. We ended up buying three wine bottles and left with an overall amazing feeling. I would recommend this place to anyone.
