Vino Jarc- Beautiful Family- Owned Winery in the Largest Winegrowing region in Slovenia
Vino Jarc is a family winery, from a beautiful village of Svečina in the heart of Štajerska district in the Podravje region in north-east Slovenia. Štajerska, also known as Styria, is the largest winegrowing district in Slovenia. As the terrain in Podravje is very hilly, the terrain in Štajerska is also very uneven with steep slopes in the Haloze area and anthropogenic terraces in Ljutomer-Ormož hill area. The vineyards have altitudes between 250 and 400 meters. The climate is continental with an average annual precipitation of around 1000 millimeters. The weather is marked by hot summers and cold winters.
Famous for Elegant varietal White Wines
The Vino Jarc winery is known for its elegant varietal white wines, influenced by the Pannonian climate with its high-temperature fluctuations, dry summers, and sharp winters.
The region is considered to be a northern vineyard, which means the wines have a floral and fruity nose with a lighter body.
This makes them more drinkable and less strong than wines coming from the south. The wines of Vino Jarc also have a higher acidity, which is mainly due to the cooler climate.
Common grape varieties and their further processing
The most commonly grown varieties of grapes at Vino Jarc winery are Sauvignon blanc, Riesling, Laški rizling, Muscat, Pinot noir, etc. The best grapes are selected for fermentation. They are then aged and matured in large barrels until ready for bottling. Amazing red, white, rose and sparkling wines are produced with the unique flavor of the region. The wine bottles are produced and sold under the label Štajerska.
