Formed in 1997, this cooperative unites over 700 families of local winegrowers, each contributing to a legacy that dates back to the 3rd Century B.C. Spanning 4,500 hectares across 14 municipalities, Grandes Vinos cultivates a diverse range of grape varieties.
Ten Grape Varieties, Including the Unique Cariñena
Grandes Vinos Winery is home to ten different grape varieties, including the region's namesake, Cariñena. Other varieties include Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo, and Moscatel de Alejandría. This diversity allows the winery to produce a wide array of wines, including red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. Most of their offerings are designated DO Cariñena, one of Spain's first official wine designations established in 1932.
