Herdade do Freixo

This was my second time coming to Herdade do Freixo, and the place was just as amazing as my first visit! The space is an architectural wonder and so incredibly perfectly and purposefully built. You really do need to visit to understand the beauty of the space, and certainly enjoy some of their lovely wines. Joana did a beautiful job of sharing the story of the space and wines and her passion shone through.

Além da excelência nos vinhos, uma adega que vale a pena visitar. It is particularly special for a collaboration that facilitates visits, communication and coordination, cordiality and availability. Recommend!

Very beautiful place with a vast history

Very kind, friendly and helpful guide. The structure is really beautiful: we were pleasantly impressed by both the architectural aesthetics and the ingenuity to be able to work the wine underground. Last but not least: the wines of very high quality and with original and sophisticated tastes (tasted in a decidedly refined environment)!

Winery with beautiful and sustainable architecture and very high-quality wines. I called to schedule an appointment and Lisa guided us through the tour, in which the production details are presented very clearly. I recommend it to everyone!

Great hidden gem in Alentejo region. Quick trip from nearby Évora…. Really beautiful grounds. Mariana gave us a great tour and talked to us a lot about the wines as we were tasting them. We did the family collection. This winery focuses on creating wines that are meant to be aged, so I would strongly suggest opting for their tasting options that showcase that.

WOW! I have been on a lot of wine tours, but this is the closest to the production I’ve ever gotten. The architecture is one of a kind, and the wine is sophisticated. We did a tasting with tapas that was gorgeous, filling, educational. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The winery is also gorgeous and would be incredible for a special event.

Fantastic guided tour of this winery, with an excellent guide. Immersive visit, not exhaustive. I highly recommend it.

At very short notice, we were given a tour of the winery by the friendly Marisa. Thank you very much, it was great and very private! We were impressed by her expertise and she leads with all her heart. We wish the winery good yields and special wines - we took the two from the tasting with us in the motorhome to enjoy. That was unexpected and something very special on our vacation.

Mariana guided us through the wine tour. She was brilliant - spoke perfect English. The information she gave was very interesting and detailed. We felt that she likes her job and does it with passion. Ana Rita also accompanied us on the tour. She was also extremely courteous and friendly. we would recommend the tour at any time. A beautiful winery for its architecture and atmosphere. It was recommended but the experience is worth it, the wines are very tasty and the visit is very pleasant.
