Quinta da Plansel organizes and carefully implements its winemaking skills making sure you only get the best
Quinta da Plansel Comes From a Strong History
Quinta da Plansel first came into action in 1997. A passionate winemaker by nature and by family heritage, Dorina Lindemann, daughter of Jorge Bohm, an oenologist came to Portugal from Germany with her husband Thomas Lindemann to give new roots to existing vineyards. Dorina comes from a family that has been engaged in the cultivation of vines and the production of wine since 1828.
Meditterian Characteristics in the Winery Terroirs
A key secret to why their wines taste so exceptionally good is that Quinta da Plansel was able to find the right region to work with the right varieties of grapes. In Alentejo, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Alicante Boushet, Trincadeira, Verdelho, Arinto, Gouveio, Viosinho, Esganacão, Encruzado and Sauvignon Blanc are grown to full perfection in terroirs that have Mediterranean characteristics with soils of gneisses or related rocks and diorite. Quinta da Plansel vineyards are in heavy soil and slightly inclined to the South.
