Konopane Winery: Following traditional principles of winemaking

A Family Winery

The roots of the winemaker’s family come from the ancient village of Mogilovo, Bulgaria. It is located 37 km northwest of Stara Zagora and 25 km northeast of Chirpan, in the picturesque basin of Sernena Sredna Gora. This terroir turned out perfectly suitable for growing grape arrays. A great place for the production of high-quality wines. One of the first ancient names of the village of Mogilovo was cannabis, since the population mainly fed on the cultivation of cannabis. From there, the name Konopane winery was born, and this family property became the dream home of three generations.

Quality Grapes

The grapes that are processed are grown on the village’s property. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mavrud, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are among the varieties the winery uses for the processing of their exquisite wines. The wine’s quality that they make is solely determined by natural factors in a fertile region, with minimal technological interference.

Skilled Winemaking

Tihomir Marinov, a talented and enthusiastic winemaker believes there is much more to learn about Bulgarian wines, and this belief inspires him to create high-quality wines while maintaining traditional values.
