Vineyards Surrounded by Olive Trees

Founded in 1974 in Vallbona de Les Monges, L’Olivera winery is nestled among vineyards naturally shaded by olive trees. This cooperative winery quickly gained recognition, uniting local farmers to produce high-quality wines. L’Olivera prioritizes quality and sustainability, collaborating with farmers to set fair output quotas while ensuring organic grape cultivation across all vineyards. The winery also champions social responsibility by providing job opportunities for individuals with mental disabilities, allowing them to grow and potentially transition into full-time roles.

The History of L’Olivera

In 1989, L’Olivera built its own cellar to craft wines from their harvested grapes, enhancing quality control and marketing strategies. Today, the winery manages approximately 20 hectares of vineyards in the Costas del Segre DO. The estate's largest vineyard, La Plana, is beautifully interspersed with the striking blue ceramics of the Cistercian abbey of Vallbona, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. This distinctive blue hue is featured on the labels and corks of their wines. Situated at elevations between 450 and 700 meters in a dry Mediterranean climate, the vineyards cultivate organic white grape varieties such as Macabeo, Parellada, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, and Viognier.

This place has a spectacular setting just 25 minutes from Barcelona. We ate on a sunny day and it was truly a great experience. We tried the homemade vermouth and tried the new menu. The tapas are very good. I recommend the bravas and the roast croquettes. The desserts are also very good. I would improve the service. The waiters came four times before we could take our order—that would be the only drawback. The rest was really good.

Beautiful farmhouse in the mountains of Collserola. We were there in May and there were few people. We had a great afternoon having a snack and looking at the vineyards🍇 We really liked it and we were treated very well! Beautiful lighting and pleasant stay. Unpaved parking.

Excellent experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We celebrated our 50th birthday and they gave us a tour of the vineyard with explanation and tasting of the wines produced there. Then they took us to a room of the winery where they served us different tapas and exquisite dishes, always accompanied by wines and then cava. Absolutely recommended experience ⭐

We went as a family for a wine tasting with breakfast, five adults and two children in total. I admit the wines weren't quite to my taste, but the view of Collserola and the service made the visit worthwhile. The breakfast is quite generous, and the girl who served us seemed to know the vineyards and the history of the farmhouse. I would like to emphasize the winery's service to the community, which facilitates the integration of people with disabilities into the workforce.

It was quite a hike to this special place. The restaurant offers a job opportunity to people from disadvantaged or reintegration backgrounds, which makes the whole story behind the location even more special. The food tasted even better after the walk. We tried and shared many different dishes and were pleasantly surprised by the flavors and the local wines. A visit is definitely recommended! Our compliments for the hospitality, the honest and delicious dishes and the beautiful location.

"I have to say this place is amazing. The food was to die for, and the wine was amazing. We couldn't stop raving about the wine; it was so good. At the end, we bought a bottle of each of the wine. If you like white wine, ask for Blanc de Serè. The service was okay, depending on who was serving you. We tried to get someone's attention until someone saw our hand up, but in general, it was really good, and I would recommend coming back.
