Martellotto Winery, Specializing in Production of Bordeaux Style Wines in Central California
Martellotto Winery, located in Buellton, California, makes exciting and unique blends that delight a wine drinker’s palate. Owner and winemaker, Greg Martellotto, brings together his years of experience in winemaking and inspiration from his family’s winemaking roots in Italy to craft excellent Californian wines. The family winemaking story began in 1918 in Alberobello, Puglia. Since 2014, the winery shares a production facility with MS, Paolo Barbieri, and Lo-Fi Wines. The winery specializes in producing Bordeaux varietal wines from the Happy Canyon region near Santa Barbara.
Martellotto Winery’s Bordeaux style wines have received national and international awards, including a Double Gold Medal at the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
Individually Crafted Wines at the Winery
Greg Martellotto utilizes handpicked grapes grown in the districts of Happy Canyon, the Santa Ynez Valley, the Santa Maria Valley, and the Santa Rita Hills of the Central Coast. The growers use organic and sustainable farming methods in the vineyards to protect the natural environment and maintain the quality and standards of their wines. Martellotto Winery does not believe in producing vast quantities of wines, all wines are individually crafted one bottle at a time so that the quality, taste, and complexity of the wines is at the highest standard.
Grape Varieties in the Vineyards
Martellotto Winery creates a large array of wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Syrah. The best quality grapes go into the production of their red, white, rosé, fortified, and dessert wines.
