The history of MESSIAS has been writing for over 90 years! Messias Ferreira Baptista was born on 22 November, 1891 in a town in the central region of Portugal, Mealhada. After a long history carried on by the founder Messias Baptista, his family continues to perpetuate a family legacy by continuing to produce wine and expand the vineyard. Today, Messias produce Red Wines, White Wines, Rosés, Sparkling Wines, Old Brandies and Port Wines. Each one more unique than the others, due to the position of the estate is favourable to the good growth of the vines. The wines are produced in several different regions in Portugal: Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras and Porto. With a vineyard heritage of more than 200 hectares, the winery and the Messias family will be delighted to share with you their history and their methods of production and vinification which make their wines so special. Messias is recognised throughout the world and their wines have been acclaimed by specialist critics and have also competed in renowned national and international competitions.
