The Paglione Estate Winery with Unique Character of its region

The Paglione Estate Winery comprises of 40 acres of land and 10 acres of vineyards in the EPIC Essex Pelee Island Coast wine area in Ontario’s Essex County. Winemaking is going on in the region since 1866, and Vin Villa, Canada’s first winery, was also founded here. Paglione Estate is a family-owned and run winery with strong ties to the Italian/Canadian population and our local community. The wines celebrate the unique character of the region, and their dining menu brings to the forefront the cuisine from the family dinner table.

The menu is highlighted by this region’s best pizza, which they proudly cook in their wood-fired pizza oven.

Suitable Terroir for the Vineyards

The terroir here features fertile, light soil with sandy loam and gravel deposits. These deposits also have limestone and stony ridges in them. The soil, along with a favorable microclimate, abundant sunshine, and southern exposure, makes the region ideal for cultivating vines. Cabernet Franc and Chambourcin are the grapes used by them to make their exquisite red, white, rose, and sparkling wines.
