220 Years of Family Tradition

At Puddicombe Estate Wines, the Puddicombe family, along with their dedicated staff, welcomes visitors to experience the beauty of the Ontario countryside. Their mission is to create lasting memories through simple pleasures shared among family and friends. For over two centuries, this family-run winery has been committed to harvesting its own fruits, offering fresh produce and a delightful range of products, including hand-baked pies, jams, jellies, cookies, tarts, strudels, cider, fudge, and, of course, exceptional wines.

Farm-to-Table Philosophy

In recent years, Puddicombe Estate has embraced a farm-to-table approach for its catered events, sourcing ingredients from their own farm and local growers within a 100-mile radius. This commitment to fresh, local food fosters strong connections among families and friends, enriching the community and enhancing the overall experience.

Quality Grapes and Award-Winning Wines

Since 1962, Murray Puddicombe has cultivated Vinifera grapes, including Gamay Noir and Chardonnay, with other varieties like Riesling, Pinot Noir, and French Colombard following in the years to come. Today, Puddicombe Estate spans over 150 acres of high-quality vineyards, producing more than 25 award-winning wines recognized in both national and international competitions.

Established in 1998, Puddicombe Estate Winery began crafting wines under the guidance of winemaker Lindsay Puddicombe. The winery opened its retail store in 2000, initially offering six white wines and four red wines. Today, visitors can choose from over 30 different wine varieties, showcasing the winery's growth and dedication to quality.

Really cozy, rustic, historic farm with wine and cider for tasting and sale for the adults and (in the fall season) pumpkins to choose from, apples to buy, a bouncy castle, picnic tables and a muskoka chaired patio, a huge cow, donkeys and some goats and chickens, and the super unique train and train station (10$) for the kids and family. Its main purpose is not an attraction but rather this is a working farm with a large property of orchards (cherry, apple, pear). The train line runs through these features, as well as around some ponds and paste some equine. There are staff actively working the farm and, at the same time, simple yet sweet things for visitors to enjoy. We went on a weekday so it was mostly school aged children in on a field trip and a few families with pre school age children. There is a bakery/cafe with drinks, lunch options and treats. We took home an Apple Carmel pie and a litre of fresh pressed cider! I liked that it's not commercialized and has stayed true to its roots of a 9th generation family farm. An historic gem!

Visited this establishment on Easter weekend 2024. What a beautiful winery, and the rest is a huge bonus! The staff is so friendly. Arrived in RV (Harvest Club member). The owner came out to visit us and introduce himself. We walked around the winery and were blessed with beautiful nature and a couple of animals. During our visit to the wine store, we did some sampling and purchased 5 bottles of wine and some baked goods. The store has so many cute things to buy. We visit a lot of winery's when we travel, I would say this is the best one. Bring the children if you can, so many fun things to do. There's a 2km train ride ...so cool! Enjoy & Cheers! 🥂

The farm and the store itself were super cute and nice. It costs 45 dollars for the bucket (I believe 7 Litres). They give you a coupon for a free wine tasting with every bucket bought. They don’t allow dogs in so keep your puppers at home. My only concern was their staff. Most of which were impolite and just generally seemed to hate being there. I don’t understand why they need to take it out on the customers. Otherwise it was a beautiful farm and lovely cherries
