PAP winery: Papa Aron Pince

PAP wines started without major plans. PAP winery is short for Papa Aron Pince Wines which is the stage name of one of the founders, Aron who is a DJ. Accompanying Aron in this venture is Karina who met him in Copenhagen, and they decided to settle in Szent György-hegy, Hungary, where they found a place, they called home.

The winemaking came to this duo as they always appreciated a good glass of wine and the non-existent dream of becoming winemaker came true

High-quality wines from Szent György-hegy

PAP wines made first batches of their wines for their enjoyment. The curiosity to know what best wines can be produced from each harvest, made them make one batch after the next. Their vision is rather simple, to remain a small boutique winery.

PAP winery is an artisan winery that makes “vins de garage” style wines which are small batches of wines that could be easily produced in a garage. The small selection of high-quality wines is handcrafted from their 2.8 ha volcanic vineyards which are cared with low interventions. The varietals are cultivated such that their highest potential is reached to produce vintages that represent the unique terroir. They have single vineyard wines and wines from renovated 40-year-old vineyard.

The vineyards fall in Badacsony, Balaton wine region and the vineyard grows grapes varietals like Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Kéknyelü, Olaszriesling and Pinot Gris. These varietals are used to make red and white wines.
