PAP Winery: Papa Aron Pince

PAP Wines began as a passion project rather than a grand plan. The name PAP stands for Papa Aron Pince Wines, inspired by one of the founders, Aron, who is also a DJ. Alongside Aron is Karina, who he met in Copenhagen. Together, they chose to settle in Szent György-hegy, Hungary, where they found their home and a new purpose.

Winemaking was a long-held appreciation for this duo, and their dream of crafting wine has now become a reality.

PAP Wines initially produced small batches for their own enjoyment. Their curiosity about the potential of each harvest led them to create one batch after another. Their vision is simple: to remain a small boutique winery.

This artisan winery specializes in “vins de garage” style wines, crafted in small quantities that reflect the character of their 2.8-hectare volcanic vineyards. With minimal intervention, they cultivate grape varietals to reach their full potential, resulting in wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region. They offer both single vineyard wines and selections from a renovated 40-year-old vineyard.

Located in the Badacsony area of the Balaton wine region, PAP Wines grows a variety of grapes, including Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Kéknyelü, Olaszriesling, and Pinot Gris. These grapes are used to produce both red and white wines, each reflecting the distinct characteristics of the land.
