The Story of Barcza Winery

Founded in 1920 by my great-great-grandfather, Barcza Winery has a rich history rooted in the heart of Hungary's Balaton region. Our first bottled wines were introduced in 2011, marking a new chapter in our commitment to quality. Since then, we have embraced ecological cultivation practices, ensuring that our grapes are grown sustainably. In recent years, we have also ventured into the realm of natural wines, allowing the true essence of our grapes to shine through.

Our Philosophy

At Barcza Winery, our mission is to authentically represent the unique Somló terroir. We believe in letting our wines express themselves naturally, with minimal intervention. Each vintage tells its own story, and we take pride in the individuality of our wines. Rather than producing uniform bottles, we celebrate the diversity of flavors and characteristics that each batch brings. This approach not only honors our heritage but also enhances the experience for wine lovers seeking genuine tastes from the Balaton region.

Visit Us

We invite you to experience the charm of Barcza Winery firsthand. Whether you are a seasoned wine enthusiast or a curious traveler, our winery offers a welcoming atmosphere where you can learn about our winemaking process and taste our distinctive wines. Join us in celebrating the art of natural winemaking in the beautiful Balaton region.

You can visit it by prior registration. Bálint and his wife are excellent hosts. The view from the wine terrace is first class. The wines are good. Not to be missed.
